When is the best time to do the Maria Island Walk?
The 4 day Maria Island Walk operates from October to April, with the warmest conditions experienced from December to March when temperatures hover around 13 – 21 degrees.
When is the best time to visit Tasmania?
Tasmania has a cool temperate climate with four distinct seasons. The warmest months are in summer and early Autumn, from December to March, and the winter is cool with snow in alpine inland areas such as Cradle Mountain.
What to pack for a multi-lodge walk in Tasmania
You will carry all of your belongings between lodges, including clothing and personal items for all days on the trail, plus lunch and water supplies that you will replenish daily at each lodge or camp. Pack for four seasons to ensure you are prepared for all types of weather. Lightweight Merino wool or polypropylene clothing has a better chance of drying overnight if it gets wet. Cotton, silk, or denim garments are not suitable.
