Day 1

You'll be collected from Adelaide this morning and transferred to Blowhole Beach, a scenic bay on the Heysen Trail’s south coast, only accessible on foot or by 4WD. Enjoy the picture-perfect views before hiking from Blowhole Beach towards Cape Jervis. This section of the Heysen Trail offers clear vistas of the rolling green hilltops and rugged landscape that Deep Creek National Park and the Fleurieu Peninsula are known for. Take in wonderful views of Backstairs Passage and Kangaroo Island as you traverse the trail west towards Cape Jervis, the official starting point of the Heysen Trail. Before reaching the Cape, you’ll head slightly inland to arrive at Saltbush Farm on foot. Perched on a hilltop, this exclusive-use property is yours to enjoy for the next two nights. On arrival, you’ll meet your hosts, who will help you settle in with some welcome drinks and an in-villa dining experience they’ll prepare for you tonight.

Day 2

After a delicious continental breakfast on your deck at Saltbush Farm, you’ll be transferred to Deep Creek National Park for today’s walk on the Heysen Trail, commencing at Tapanappa Lookout. From the lush clifftops at Tapanappa, you’ll enjoy panoramic views up and down the south coast, with a resident family of kangaroos sure to make an appearance. Your private guide will lead you to Trig, near Blowhole Beach, passing through Deep Creek Gorge and offering glimpses of Deep Creek Cove as you walk down the valley. Near the base, you’ll reach the peaceful oasis of Deep Creek Waterfall, a perfect spot for morning tea and a rest by the water’s edge. Later, continue up the other side of the valley, taking in coastal views as you emerge from the lush native bushland that covers the national park. Post-hike, enjoy lunch at the Trig picnic area. Returning to Saltbush Farm this afternoon, you will find tonight’s meal pre-prepared in your fridge ready to self-cook on the BBQ or in the oven at your leisure. Before dinner, take the opportunity to soak in your heated plunge pool and enjoy the view with a glass of local wine or beer as the sun dips below the horizon.
