            Day 2 & 3

On the first full cruise day, the ship heads to Koolama Bay to visit a Kimberley icon, the King George River and its mighty Twin Falls. At 80 meters (260 feet), the the twin cascades are among the highest falls in Australia, and one of the most striking with the surrounding near vertical red rock formations rising dramatically from the river below. King George River weaves through an amazing landscape of gorges, with amazing birdlife, raptors and saltwater crocodiles regularly sighted. Today's recommended excursion is a Zodiac tour which will take you closer to the impressive thunderous falls. Next, discover astonishing ancestral Wandjina art galleries at tranquil Swift Bay. Travelling by Zodiac, admire the coast’s spectacular scenery, followed by a short walk across the rocky and wild landscape to the historic and artistic caves.

            Day 4 & 5

The next two days are ideal for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, visiting Ashmore Reef and Adele Island. Ashmore Reef has been declared a Sanctuary zone, providing the highest level of protection for the wildlife. Known to be a haven for more than 40 bird species and thousands of migratory shorebirds, the colourful reef is also home to around 500 species of fish, marine turtles, dugongs and many playful dolphins. The wide sandbanks, knee-deep water and multiple coral reefs of Adele Island are a thriving ocean outpost for breeding birds and turtles, and a lively nursery for young humpback whales and bottlenose dolphins. You'll also encounter beautiful sea turtles, diverse fish life, and remarkable birds like the lesser frigate bird and brown booby and possibly the odd saltwater crocodile.

Today you'll enter the Buccaneer Archipelago, an area 50 square kilometres in size, comprised of around 800 islands. This region experiences huge 12-metre tides, which generate a powerful tidal pull resulting in natural phenomena, the world-renowned 'Horizontal Falls' at Talbot Bay. Explore the area today by Zodiac, with options to enjoy a thrilling fast-boat ride near the falls.

            Day 7

Next, you'll head to Freshwater Cove on the mainland where you'll enjoy a special Indigenous experience with a traditional ochre welcome from local Aboriginal guides. The following day you'll explore the wonder that is Montgomery Reef, where drastic tidal changes make it appear to rise out of the water, creating a river that allows access to a semi-submerged world. The tide movements on the day will influence the experience, but you'll likely encounter an abundance of reef birds and sea creatures including turtles and manta rays.

There is even the chance of discovering dolphins, hammerhead sharks and turtles while exploring this diverse region by Zodiac with the Silversea team. Naturalist Island at the mouth of the river has a stunning stretch of sandy beach that makes a perfect landing site for small helicopters that can pick up visitors wishing to explore some of the Kimberley’s vast interior including Mitchell Falls (fee applies). Other excursion options over your two days in the Hunter include a guided hike to discover Gwion-Gwion rock art and an almost intact wreck of an old World War II airplane at Vansittart Bay near the northern tip of Western Australia.
