Breakfast is included this morning at Magnolia’s onsite restaurant, before your transfer to Santiago airport for your flight to Puerto Natales in Southern Chilean Patagonia. Upon arriving, you will be transferred to Tierra Patagonia which is perfectly positioned overlooking Torres del Paine National Park with views to the ‘Torres massif’ or Towers (for which the national park is named). Settle in and use the pool and spa facilities this afternoon, or perhaps venture out for an afternoon excursion. Later relax in the atmospheric lounge with a Chilean wine, before a three-course dinner with Chilean wine. The modern timber-lined restaurant offers views over the National Park and is a special place to dine.

          Day 3

After breakfast at Tierra, set off on your first guided adventure into Torres del Paine National Park, with options ranging from guided hikes to glacier boat trips. We recommend joining a guided day hike to the ’Torres’ or Towers Base today, an iconic section of the W-Trek. Take in river and valley views as you are led to the base of the three jagged peaks, which rise above a pale blue glacial lake. After a lunch break with this scenic backdrop, conclude your hike and be transferred by the waiting van back to the lodge. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks from the open bar before your evening meal.

          Day 4

Wake well-rested and enjoy breakfast before setting off for a half or full day activity to suit your preference. You might like a gentle walk or horse ride, or perhaps a wildlife viewing excursion for a chance to spot Guanacos, pumas and condors that call the park home. If you are keen to maximise your time hiking in Torres del Paine National Park, French Valley is a recommended option and another chance to discover the famous W-trek. Visit the hanging glaciers of the forested ‘Valle Frances’ or French Valley with your guide, and as a bonus you will enjoy a boat trip across iceberg-dotted Lake Pehoe to access the trail. Return to the lodge and unwind, perhaps visiting the sauna or steam room to warm up or indulging in a massage treatment to ease any tight muscles. Dinner by the fire is the perfect end to the day.

          Day 5

Your final full day at Tierra Patagonia is a chance for one last adventure and we highly recommend incorporating Grey Glacier to complete your Torres del Paine itinerary. One of the most beautiful glaciers in Southern Patagonia, Grey Glacier can be enjoyed on foot or on the water. A popular hiking option is the ‘Puentes Grey’ or Bridges Grey Walk which begins on the northern side of the glacier after a boat trip across the lake and includes dramatic suspension bridge sections offering views over the Patagonian ice field. An alternative is to navigate Lake Grey by catamaran to see the dramatic edge of Grey Glacier up-close – a traditional lunch at a Pampas Lodge is included with this excursion before returning to Tierra. By dinner-time you're sure to be on a high as you reflect on your time in Torres del Paine National Park with new-found friends.

          Day 6

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off this morning for the airport (Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas, depending on the season). Flying north to Chile’s Calama Airport, you will arrive into San Pedro de Atacama this afternoon in time to enjoy pre-dinner drinks at picturesque Tierra Atacama. The outdoor pool and restaurant terrace both have stunning views of the surrounding landscape which is characterised by arid desert salt flats and the volcano-filled mountains of Chile’s northern Andes. Dinner at Tierra Atacama is a highlight with traditional flavours and local produce showcased ensuring an authentic Chilean experience.

          Day 7

As with Tierra Patagonia, your time at Tierra Atacama can be as active or relaxing as you like. Activity options range from cycling and horse riding to hiking and wildlife viewing at the lagoons and salt flats of Atacama Desert. Our pick for today is Rainbow Valley, where you’ll discover the colourful arid mountains and ancient petroglyphs lining their gorge walls on the Purilactis track. This guided hike begins on the shores of the Salada River at an altitude of 3000 metres (9842 feet), before traversing the arid valley. Surrounded by gorge walls, you will discover 10,000 year old petroglyph carvings on your walk through the valley which is dotted with rocky outcrops and caves. Arrive at your destination at the end of the walk – the multi-coloured cliff walls of the remarkable Rainbow Valley. Return to the lodge for an afternoon of relaxation by the wonderful resort pool, or consider a visit to the spa. Dinner at the onsite restaurant tonight will refuel you for tomorrow’s adventures.

          Day 8

After breakfast, set off on another excursion with your local guides. The Atacama Salt Flats are one of the driest places on earth, and renowned world-over for their vast mirror-like lagoons which reflect the imposing peaks and horizon beyond. We recommend a visit to Salar de Atacama today, where you’ll witness the changing colours and reflections of the landscape as the sun moves across the sky. Los Flamencos National Reserve at Chaxa Lagoon is a recommended stop for capturing that iconic panorama of the Atacama salt flats with flamingos dotting the landscape. You might also visit Toconao on this scenic day out – the secluded desert village is built of soft white stone, and houses artisan workshops and a traditional village plaza. Return to Tierra for drinks and dinner with fellow guests in the restaurant and bar lounge tonight.

          Day 9

Your time in the Atacama Desert would not be complete without discovering the lunar-like landscape of Moon Valley and her surrounding valleys. A hidden spot away from the crowds is ‘Vallecito’ or Little Valley – sister to Moon Valley – which offers a short guided walk in the Salt mountains. Located to the west of the San Pedro Oasis in Atacama Desert, Vallecito is characterised by the selenite-filled landscape of the Salt mountains which shine in the morning sunlight. On this easy guided walk you’ll witness a huge salt crystal playing music, thanks to temperature changes that cause its crystals to expand and contract. Return to Tierra Atacama for an afternoon siesta or another activity – cycling perhaps - with today being your last chance to explore this unique Chilean landscape.
