What to bring

  • A small backpack to carry the items you need on the trail (e.g. snacks, water, protective layers and personal items)
  • Wet weather gear in case of rain - a lightweight waterproof jacket with a hood is recommended
  • A large water bottle
  • Sturdy waterproof hiking boots with mid-to-high ankle support are recommended due to the uneven terrain; to avoid blisters, boots should be comfortable and worn in
  • Comfortable, layered hiking clothing – we recommend long loose-fitting clothing for sun and wind protection and to shield your legs and arms from stray branches
  • Small towel and swimsuit to swim at the lodge - optional but recommended
  • Walking poles if you prefer to use them
  • Smart casual attire and lightweight shoes/sandals for dining at the lodge
  • Suitable warm layers for cool evenings and early mornings (particularly June, July and August)
  • Sleepwear, spare socks and underwear
  • Sun protection, including a peaked or brimmed hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, plus a lightweight longer-sleeve shirt or shawl
  • Prescription glasses and/or any medication you may require (including an EPI pen)
  • Personal toiletries in small containers, including insect repellent
  • Your camera and/or mobile phone, chargers, a small torch, and spare batteries
  • Bank card (or preferred device) for purchasing personal items and incidentals
