Yes, all hikers carry their own gear when joining the multi-day Milford Track hike. A 40L hiking pack is supplied for walkers to carry clothes and personal items, along with daily lunch and snacks to enjoy on the track. As there is no road access to the lodges on the Milford Track guided hike, gear is carried between the lodges each day and there is no luggage transfer option. For less experienced hikers, or for those who prefer walking pack-free, Walk into Luxury offers a Signature Walk at Blanket Bay Lodge combining the best day hikes on the Milford and Routeburn Tracks returning to the lodge each evening. This is a pack-free Milford hike option.
