Towers Base Hike, Torres del Paine National Park
One of Patagonia's best day hikes, the Towers Base Hike in Torres del Paine National Park is part of Chile's famous W-Trek
The Towers Base Hike in Torres del Paine National Park is one of the world’s great day hikes. Located on the famous W Trek, the full day guided walk begins at the Ascensio River with a climb to Paso los Vientos. As you hike higher up the pass, the mountains come into view before you reach the Chileno refuge ‘mountain hut’. The next section of the trail takes you through native lenga forest and up a rocky hillside to reach the base of the three towers for which Torres del Paine is named. This moderately challenging day hike is a must-do for any keen hiker while visiting Patagonia.
The Base of the Towers Hike is available as a shared or private guided experience from select lodges in Torres del Paine National Park or from Puerto Natales (though this is a longer day due to travel distances to the park). Alternatively enjoy this experience as part of an all-inclusive luxury W-Trek option.
