Sheltered by towering Ghost Gums and steep gorges, Simpson's Gap is a permanent waterhole situated in the vast West MacDonnell Ranges less than 20 km from Alice Springs. Discover the area's native flora and fauna and learn of Rungutjirpa's spiritual significance to the traditional owners of the land, the Arrarnta people. This guided walk can be tailored to include a visit to the natural wonder of Standley Chasm or a short walk on a section of the iconic Larapinta Trail. This experience is ideal if you have a few hours to spare in Alice Springs before boarding The Ghan.
