Vallecito or ‘Little Valley’ is the lesser-known - but equally stunning – sister of popular Valle de la Luna or 'Moon Valley' of Atacama Desert. It showcases the lunar-like landscape of the Salt mountain range, located to the west of the San Pedro Oasis in Atacama Desert. This short guided walk is characterised by the selenite-filled landscape of the Salt mountains which shine in the morning sunlight. On the easy hike, witness a huge salt crystal playing music, thanks to temperature changes that cause its crystals to expand and contract, before finding an abandoned bus heralding back to a time of salt mines. The walk ends at a giant sand dune, which is a great opportunity for some fun.
