Laguna de los Tres is arguably the best day hike in El Chalten, taking walkers through forested valleys to Los Tres Lagoon and the base of Mount Fitz Roy. After crossing a river and ascending the trail to the stunningly blue lagoon, enjoy lunch while admiring the views of Fitz Roy and Glaciar de los Tres. You can walk along the lakeshore or head to the left about half a mile for spectacular panoramic views over Lago Sucia in the adjacent valley. Later return to the trailhead to conclude your 20 kilometre hike, with the pleasure of having discovered one of the most scenic sections of Los Glaciares National Park on foot.

For an additional challenge, opt for the guided Los Valles hike is an extended 29 kilometre trek continuing past Los Tres Lagoon to Torre Lagoon, finishing at El Chalten.
