Dove Lake is located at the foot of Cradle Mountain, and offers one of Tasmania’s best short walks, suitable for couples and families alike. The trail circles Dove Lake taking walkers beneath the craggy spires of Cradle Mountain, which provides a stunning backdrop for the duration of the two-hour circuit walk. The boardwalk trail passes through an impressive range of scenery, including button-grass popular with wombats, sandy lake beaches, cascading waterfalls and dense rainforests. The Ballroom Forest is a highlight with the cool-temperate rainforest filled with ancient Myrtle-Beech trees covered in moss.
